There were some historical village events, so special that people created significant documents to record them. Each of these have become chronicles of their time, bringing together details and information which might largely have been forgotten or discarded. They also help to tie together the events, themselves, with the fleeting minutiae of life which help us identify with what went on. This brings us much closer to understand how people lived and what eas important to them.
Their are other “Events” which were collections of the everyday. Sport is one of these.
As this website moves forward we anticipate collecting other exapmples. However, we can only show samples of information on the website – the space isn’t available for us to display everything. You might like to come along to our meetings to learn more?
